At Tarmon National School, we believe digital skills are an important part of every child’s education. We were awarded with Coding and Robotics Flags in 2024 as recognition for our digital education achievements.We use a wide range of digital tools to support teaching, learning, creativity, and fun!
- Classroom Technology: All our classrooms are equipped with interactive flat panel screens or interactive whiteboards and laptops. Each class have access to a wide variety of digital supports such as ipads, Chromebooks, Beebots, Lego Spike Kits, etc.
- Digital Skills: Pupils learn important skills such as typing, coding basics, research skills, and how to use educational software safely and responsibly. Each pupil from 1st Class to Sixth Class is enrolled in IXL for literacy and numeracy development.
- Internet Safety: We teach our pupils how to stay safe online through dedicated Webwise lessons and Safer Internet Day activities. We regularly invite external speakers to facilitate workshops on this topic for pupils and parents.
- Project Work and Collaboration: Senior Classes engage with Google Classroom to work on projects, presentations and creative work
