All Parents Are Members
As a parent or guardian of a child in our school, you are automatically a member of the Parent Association. You’ll receive a text from the school with dates for meetings and events.
Each year we hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM) where a new Parent Association Committee is elected. We’d love to see as many parents as possible come along. It’s always a friendly and relaxed evening.
Why Get Involved?
Taking part in the Parent Association is a lovely way to:
- Support your child’s education and school life
- Learn more about how the school works day-to-day
- Meet other parents and make new friends in the school community
Even if you can only help now and again, your involvement makes a real difference.
What the Parent Association DoesThe Education Act (1998) sets out the role of Parent Associations in primary schools:
To work in partnership with the Principal, staff and Board of Management
- To promote the interests of the pupils in cooperation with the whole school community
In practice, this means the Parent Association may:
- Liaise with the Principal and Board of Management on matters relating to school life
- Organise events and activities that bring parents, children and staff together.
You can find out more on the National Parents’ Council website.
